My work is rooted in my upbringing in the San Gabriel Valley as the child of immigrants from Taiwan. My education at USC Keck School of Medicine gave me a great foundation for medicine.

However during my training I often felt frustrated by the limitations of standard psychiatric practice. I was frustrated by the lack of knowledge I had when patients asked me about options other than medication. I was frustrated because I knew that the system I was practicing in was not giving patients the care they deserved.

As a result I pursued additional training in Integrative Psychiatry at the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona. This education allowed me to take care of patients as whole persons, the way I would’ve wanted my parents to be treated.
